Study Visits |
We can offer accommodation from one week up to several months for people wishing to learn about cohousing and sustainable living by being an active member of the residential community here. We have rooms available in the farmhouse, but availability is limited. A study visit gives you access to the experience of the residential community here, also access to our library of books and other resource materials on cohousing, sustainability and other topics. You would be able to join in shared meals, social activities and other aspects of the informal community here, and would be expected to contribute half a day of unpaid work in the same way as long-term residents. You would also be offered regular support and guidance in shaping your own study programme and reviewing progress. For more information on availability and charges, please contact the Threshold Centre on |

Eco-tourism |
We are keen to promote eco-tourism visitors to the Centre and to the local area. Eco-tourism often involves active participation in projects with benefits to sustainability, so we regard visitors for our garden weekends and study visit programmes as eco-tourism. The centre has already gained a Green Tourism Bronze Award, and expects to gain a Gold level rating once the building work and green energy systems are installed. |
