Core community groupWe are a friendly cohousing educational community with a sustainable living ethos near Gillingham, Dorset, and the first group to offer affordable housing in conjunction with a local Housing Association.
Members can live here either as owners, part owners or rental tenants of the units. We also have rooms in the main farmhouse available for short/medium self-catering stays for those who wish to get a taste of cohousing in action.

Currently we have a large en-suite bedroom available in the house, a 1 bed cottage for part ownership, and a 2 bed cottage for purchase.

If you are interested in any of the above, or would like to go on our list for future vacancies, please get in touch. We seek tenants who would enjoy being part of a supportive community and would join in
shared activities – these include, workshops, some meals, meditation, gardening and social time.

The opportunity for people to join the Threshold Centre as residents in shared ownership accommodation.

N.B There is now only a single bed co-ownership property remaining. The rented and two bedroom properties have now been allocated.

To qualify you need to be on North Dorset District Council Housing Register. Also that those interested in shared ownership properties need to register with the governments new build agent through South West Homes www.southwesthomes.org.uk (and that their criteria mean anyone can apply if they are a first time buyer, leaving home after relationship breakdown or as an owner/occupier are moving from an area where prices are generally lower than in Dorset, however if income is over £60,000 these criteria are null and void)

The Threshold Centre is an education centre and intentional community. We are seeking people who are committed to our project aims/values and therefore require an application form to be completed and 2 "getting to know you" visits of 2 w/e or equivalent before any commitments are made from either side.
